The Afro-Pfingsten association is made up of the board, office team and association members. Together we intend to use the Afro-Pfingsten Festival to turn the whole of Winterthur into an intercultural meeting zone during Whitsun and to celebrate the cultural diversity of Afro cultures. The festival has an eventful history stretching back over 30 years. Since the first edition in 1990, Afro-Pfingsten has grown steadily over the years. In 2015, the festival went bankrupt and was subsequently held for one edition under the name “Eine Welt”. Since 2017, the association has been rebuilding itself piece by piece. Because one thing is clear to everyone involved in the festival: Afro-Pfingsten belongs to Winterthur and makes a valuable contribution to a pluralistic society!
